Got a 28h freehub off here a few weeks back to build up for my sons Frog 55 as the drivetrain is knackered. Had the spare kit I swapped off my other lads Orbea lying around but the Frog came with a screw on cassette freewheel so this was my only way around it.
I sized the new hub up and the flanges were equal distance and looked roughly the same size but they were offset slightly different, thought I'd have a go at building it up using the original spokes just to see how much difference it'd make and the answer is none! Managed to get it dished nicely so I should be able to build it back up tomorrow as a 9 speed, that'll be one happy boy!

Very satisfying indeed when things work out like that!
