Thought it was the tyre for me - rode three days straight in Wales, everything from the rocks of Snowdon to the roots and mud at CYB, loved the grips and the pace. But three days into a trip in Basque Country, the rocky climbs and descents had shredded the soft compound, and a series of patches just about held it together. It's dead now.

Is there a harder compound Schwalbe, or should I go back to Maxxis High Rollers?

It's a wet and slippery mud-conditions tyre. No wonder you killed it, too much rocky stuff.

I was wondering if I was getting my tyres mixed up there! Spikes will die very quickly in anything other than mud. You may also find that a harder compound just rips up quicker rather than wearing down

Was it the dh Dan or the XC one? If the DH one, you might want to consider a Storm DH or Hillbilly- much more durable. But still a "wrong tyres for" I reckon.

I know - wrong tyre. I still despair of the need to switch the things over all the time though ๐Ÿ˜‰
