I always knew it would happen sometime, I just didn't think it would take me so long, but today it finally happened, at the age of 42!
I thought I'd be a nervous wreck, fumbling and sweating, trying not to rush things. I thought I'd end up with slimy stuff everywhere, that my technique would be woefully lacking, and I'd resort to random frenzied pumping. And even after spending hours watching videos on the internet, I thought I'd never find the right hole first time.
But NO!
I sucessfully bled my first Avid brakes ๐
You are a man my Son.. ๐
๐ seeing as they are Avid's you'll be a right tart in no time !
You should take yourself out for a nice dinner to celebrate!

Can you update us tomorrow on whether they still work ๐
never found them any harder or easier than any other brakes tbh
I'll pass on some wise advice I once received - always keep some tissues/toilet roll handy for cleaning up afterwards.
Brake fluid can be messy ๐
Today Avids, tomorrow the OXO Tower!

They seem OK now. Even with Superstar pads in!

Yeah BABY!
I'm taking on bike servicing whilst I'm unemployed. This was a full service on a Giant Anthem X4. And I mean FULL service. ๐
Pffft! I got all worked up thinking you were going tubeless !
Ah, halcyon days - first time I bled me juicy's I thought i'd done it all right, careful caressing, sucking out all the bubbles, pumping the right way, at the right time, only to find my action had gone soft.... the tighter i gripped, the softer it seemed. Ended up watching a video and LO! my action was hard again ๐
edit - forgot - i'm sure it's improved since circa 7 years ago but, the OXO is the last place i'd go to eat... e were there on a works do, not one of us enjoyed it.... I know, we're northern, tasteless, numpties but, even so, at that price, it should have tasted reet
Remember, once you have finished, don't wipe them on the curtains.
I've read that somewhere before?..... MTBR?
Zuffle?
I once took a girl up the Oxo Tower...she wasn't keen! ๐

Poddy? Tubeless? Never!
As above... Time will tell with these brakes! Finger's crossed for the next couple of rides. ๐
On a serious note...I'd pull the levers back with laggie bands overnight just to be sure they don't soften up. Top tip, no charge. ๐

Well, you make it look easy Dez, but then other people make it look sooooooooo hard. Fnarr Fnarr!
