I have an older titanium frame (well its 2009) but pre-BB30 so has a threaded BB. I'd like to use a Sram XX BB30 double crank but wondered if i could do this with some sort of BB30 threaded converter if such a thing exists? and if so does anyone have a link?
Has anyone done this and if so are there any disadvantages i should know about?

No, not possible.
This might be a little to simple. But why not just get the xc chainset and matching SRAM external threaded bb ?

Just be carful with the narrow q factor one it won't fit most full sis bikes to well.
Not sure about the bb30 adapter though sorry
