Super proud day today, we picked up a new bike (with pedals!) for our three-yr-old at the Islabikes Family Day, and she proceeds to quite comfortably ride a "proper" bike for the first time...

Brought a tear to my eye! Definitely a demonstration of how wonderful balance bikes are early in life, as she's spent the past year or so learning the basics on a Rothan, without which she'd never be able to do this so quickly.

watching someone go from a pedestrian to a cyclist is the best thing ever. Even more so when it's your own flesh'n'blood. Conger rats!

I saw your picture in another thread earlier and thought look at her a smile from ear to ear, she had no fear and loving every minute.

One of the few things I can remember from my childhood is riding without stabilizers for the first time the old i'm holding you, "really" and I can remember the utter fear. Shown up by a little girl ๐Ÿ˜‰ Congrats fella, if she carries on like that she is going to show you up in a few years ๐Ÿ˜†

It's great isn't it, we went down the Rothan, Cnoc route, I've spent the day running flat out behind our little guy, 4 1/2 now and I can't keep up. I've usualy left my bike behind for the "I'm tired, carry me moments", but not any more. He's started standing up an the pedals today.

Thanks all, I'm getting misty again watching those vids over. Parenting is a heck of a job, but moments like these reduce all those sleepness nights to a distant memory :-).

Best thing you can do is to teach them to ride without stabilisers. Well done and happy days. I remember teaching mine to ride at three and a bit, now she is on a 24". I can start taking her an "proper" stuff. ๐Ÿ˜€

It's all about the bike again this morning, I think she's enjoying her new skills rather more than her breakfast. Off to the play park this afternoon for some cycling I think!

Nice one.
Cant wait to get my eldest out again.
Came on loads on Sat.
Eldest didnt use the balance bike much, but the youngest loves it so hoping he's eventually going to take to it as easy as your little princess.
