I have a Klien attitude V with shimano hydraulic disc brakes. I was preparing for a ride the night before and when I pulled out the MTB I disocvered no pressure in the back brake. The lever could be pulled right down with no noticeable pressure being applied to the disc. I tried bleeding them (by unscrewing the bleed nipple close to the pad) but with no effect. A friend told me I need to 'inverse' bleed them because they were shimano?
Shall I shove in the LBS for them to do it or is it easy?
I am pretty inexpereinced with discs and especially hydrulic discs. These had worked trouble free since day 1 of buying the bike second hand (on here).
Go to the Hope site and watch the repair/change pads videos on brakes, they are very good and can be applied to shimano brakes very easily.
Thanks footstomper will do!
Bleeding brakes is easy if you know how and have the right tools. If you don't then it's a pain in the arse and will only lead to a puddle of fluid on the floor, contaminated brake pads, tears and a trip to the LBS.

That statement tells us you don't really know how as you've just let a load of air into the system. So I'd suggest a trip to the LBS or find a mate who knows what he's doing to lend you a blled kit & show you how
Might also be worth asking why they suddenly need bleeding, levers don't usually come back to the bars for no reason.
Ask me nicely and I'll pop round with my bleed kit and sort them properly..
can you pop round please Pete ๐
