Years ago my camelbak leaked due to boiling water. Freezer for the win.

Always cleaned every Camelbak I've owned with boiling water, never had that.

Never done anything to mine other than chuck it in freezer. Perfectly clean even after over 3 years of constant use

Edit: although I only ever use water, never energy drinks, squash etc

Boots sell a huge pack of own brand baby sterilising tablets for peanuts. I also destroyed an osprey bladder with boiling water - not happy!!

I dont bother with the new camelbak (well the last few years new) resevoirs. Quick rinse out if it's had anything sugary in it but that's all.
