Has anyone experience of the various types of these?

I have the Giant Conduct system on my defy and its great. Was thinking of going hydraulic on my diverge. I considered the Giant system for it but while researching I came across the Juin Tech and Acor brakes. I know that TRP do the HY RD too.

Does anyone have longish term opinions on either of the above? The Giant set up will be about £150. The positives are that i know it works well but on the downside its a faff to fit and ugly! I figure i could just remove my BB7s and fit either of the above with (hopefully) minimum hassle!

I wanted to get the conduct system but it looks like it's been discontinued (or did when I was looking) so got HyRds.

Not had them a massive length of time, but loving them so far, smooth and powerful.  The major boon for me though is the auto pad adjustment, if I did a lower milage I probably would have stayed mechanical, but I commute 200ish miles per week and was having to adjust my pads every other week at least and it was grinding me down.

Haven't had to touch these ones

I've run Juin Techs for ~14months. Front has been great, rear is mounted on the chain stay so water&grit run down the actuating arm and into the master cylinder area which gums them up and stops the brake returning properly.
I had a gripe at the distributor who know of the issue and reckon sealing has been improved.
The calliper is currently fully stripped awaiting time to clean and rebuild it.

Re: bleeding, I've done Hope and Formula MTB brakes, got some SRAM Rival brakes and I messed up the hose shortening so had to bleed them.

I've not watched that video, but my Formula syringes fitted the SRAM kit and I bled it first time, no hassles. (I haven't watched the 'recommended' method in that video)

Hy:Rd's here - excellent brakes. Whilst they might not be quite as good outright as a fill hydro set up, they are a noticeable step up from spyres, bb7 etc...

Compensation for pad wear is nice and works well - Juin tech/acor don't have this being a fully closed system.

been running TRP Hy/Rd's for 3 years or so as said above excellent - like any cable disk need to use compressionless outers and make sure clean up ends carefully - good modulation and easy controlled braking on the hoods - almost fit and forget - good news is the pads are very readily available

recently put the BB7's they replaced on newly built up tourer and remembered very quickly how much faff and tinkering they need - a bit of a groundhog day but can't find post from earlier in week - think I said something like look for cheap 2nd hand as post mount is slowly disappearing or save the cash towards a flat mount frame and hydraulic - better than BB7's but the sort of yorkshireman in me says only worth it if planning on keeping the frame for some time

Juin tech for quite a while no issues, pad wear compensation not really a thing as you just turn a little dial by hand, takes seconds.

Shameless plug:

I’ve got a Giant conduct unit in a box in the garage if anyone wants to buy it? Bought it used to go on my wife’s Liv Invite, but she likes her chicken levers so never fitted it!

Think I’ve got a 90 and 110 stem i can chuck in too.

Can measure up hoses later. Post mount calipers.

Email in profile in anyone is interested!

A

sorry to hijack thread....  going through a similar dilemma myself, transferring bits from canti bike to disc. I have Tiagra 4600 shifters, any experience out there with these levers with Juin Tech or TRP HY/RD, or just pick one and go with it?
