My sister needs a new cycle-to-work bike. She is about 5 foot 6 and needs something cheap and reliable. A few gears would be handy and it needs to be sturdy enough to be used all year round, every day, with very little care and attention.

Has anyone seen any sale bargains?

My girlfriend bought a Trek 7.5 in a sale last year for £400 or so. I think it was around £600 originally. It's very light (has carbon forks!), but sturdy enough for everyday use, and has pretty good components. Ecellent value for money I think.

Sales will be on any day now, so i'd say wait a week or few to grab a bargain. Loads of stock will be significantly reduced to make way for next year's stuff. Best time of year to buy a bike.

Cheers guys,

I had already suggested the Pendleton to her but with a warning that I had never seen one in the flesh. Has anyone got any experience of them?
