Looking to upgrade from my Mavic Ksyrium Elites to a pair of Hunt 50mm carbon wheel set. They seem to have very good reviews. Should I go for the 36/50 or the 50/50? Any views on these and or other options in this price bracket?

Just bought some 4 season wheels. First impressions are that they're ok, nothing special. The only real issue I've had is that they were pretty difficult to set up tubeless and they're still not sealed completely which I think is down to the the valves being cheap and nasty. The only other averagely priced wheels I have bought are the Cero AR30 wheels from Cycle Division which spin slightly better, were easier to set up tubeless and are a smidge lighter. If I had to buy again I would go for the Cycle Division wheels. Great customer service from Hunt though.

I've had a pair for 2 years now, came ready set up with tubeless tyres. Getting a new set of tubeless on once the first set wore out took a while but nothing I wasn't expecting once the rim tape gets stretched down the rim's spoke holes.

Only used them for racing, but I really like them. The loud freehub makes the peleton take a wide berth!

I rode a demo with some on the other day... they seemed very quick, and reasonably light as well, but I did get swiped by a few cross wind gusts... albeit this was a very blustery - hail shower type day, so not unexpected

I was impressed for the price

I want a set, but Prime 50mm wheels are around half the price. Both are Chinese carbon with UK backup (splitting hairs to choose which spec is  better spec I reckon), so I reckon I’ll end up with the Primes

Hi Legend, I can see that they are cheaper but not half price and also don’t think they look quite as good. Do you think Prime are better wheels?
