My Garmin HRM strap has given up the ghost. It's not something I use all the time, mainly on the TT during the winter to try and give some structure to my workouts. Any reason not to go for this Decathlon one (other than it being out of stock currently?). Needs to be Ant+.

Should work

Is it just the strap or the unit bit that clips onto the strap that isnt working? I went through a few garmin straps eventually they were out of the warranty period and werent replacing for free anymore so ended up getting a polar wearlink strap instead and attaching the garmin ant+ unit to that and it works fine.

as above, polar one (strap only) is fifteen quid from wiggle and solved my problem - just plug garmin sender unit in

If you're going to get a new HRM anyway then you may want to check out a PowerCal (as is being discussed on this thread.) Not that much more cash than a HRM and some people do find the additional power estimation related features useful. A couple of interesting reviews here and here.

I need the whole unit, not just the strap. And I don't want a whole new HRM, the GPS unit is absolutely fine, I just need an Ant+ strap to link up with it.
