Been looking about a bit and can get the FR60 with belt and footpod for £97 or FR305 with belt for £107.
FR60 is obviously foot pod based, and FR305 GPS based.
I want something for riding and running, but it'll be mostly road biking effort & training and running training it will used for.
I plan on doing a few triathlons this year.
I like the idea of having a map of my route, but not the idea of having the huge unit of the FR305 on my wrist. It's also not waterproof so not so useful for wearing for the whole tri event.
The FR60 also downloads o the pc which is good, but doesn't have the mapping or the ability to upload training plans to it.
Just wondering if anyone had either and what their experiences were? Heard some horror stories re the 305, but you know what forums are like..............
I went through this question a few weeks ago when deciding what to get the wife for xmas. In the end I/we went for the 305 - seems to be pretty ace so far. It's also not as huge as it looks - my wife is proper tiny (4ft 10!) and she's not bothered by it - assuming you're not a midget I doubt you'll find it a problem (it does look a little dorky tho!).
It does a load of quite cool stuff she likes such as virtual partner to race against and stuff.
As far as tri stuff goes - this bloke goes into a fair amount of detail into the subject:

The 310 review is worth a look as well as it has a interesting bit about what to do with it for the swim leg:

I didn't really find any negative reviews of the 305 - it also downloads to the PC btw (using a cradle rather than a wireless dongle - I have a FR50 and the wireless thing doesn't seem that reliable).
Yeah, seen that review, he's done a pretty good one of the FR60 too. The FR60 has the virtual partner also. I suppose I like the idea of being able to just wear it as a watch as well.
The 310 is well out of my price range, and what it offers over the 305 prob isn't worth it.
How do you find the GPS signal in woods/built up areas?
