No problem at all. It is a cobbled track that can be ridden in any weather. Even if you include the Dolygaer track above Talybont you won't have any issues as that has been surfaced now. Don't get me wrong. If it has rained heavily/is raining you WILL get wet. BUt it won't be a mud fest and it is not actually yet that cold. Just be sensible, carry proper kit/spares for a day out in the hills in October and you will be fine.

Thanks Mark, rode it in the summer twice as an introduction to mountains - was hoping for better weather again this time. Just wanted to check its not certain death or a stupid idea first!

Hope those rovals are still rolling strong btw ๐Ÿ™‚

We did it in early June with good weather and it looked like it would cope well with lots of rain surface wise BUT it's quite exposed, especially the main climb, so I'd be prepared for a long, cold and wet day.

Good ride BTW although not one I'd rush back and do again as once I've done a classic I try and find a different one to do.

๐Ÿ™‚ Rovals running great, a nice wheel TBF. Only using the rear at the mo on the Liteville as it now has a 650b front. We have been know to ride the Gap circuit as a winter night ride with snow falling on the pass. I guess living and working in the hills they don't hold too many surprises for us. Treat them with respect though and trust your instincts. If it ever feels uncomfortable there is no shame in going back the easy way. The hills will still be there next time.

Done it in the rain a few times. As WF says, it 'll be damp but entirely rideable. Always a good day out regardless of the weather. Except the time when it was sheet ice down from the gap. Stood at the top for a while thinking 'how the hell are we going to get down there'. A bit on the bikes, a bit more for me on my arse!

Have a good one.

Very rideable in the wet. If you have goggles, take them with you and stick them on for the descent!

Agree - but the day is set, taking a mate and don't fancy getting lost in a down pour ๐Ÿ™ again ๐Ÿ˜ณ
