I asume you greased the rails where the seatpost clamps to it. Have you sprayed some WD40 where the rails go into the seat body? that sometimes helps.

five or six bel airs in my cycling buddy network and they all creaked after a while. I dribble thick chain lube (finish line cross country at the mo) down the holes where the saddle rails go in and leave to 'soak in' with the saddle nose or tail up. bit of a faff but seems to work for a couple of months at a time. if it wasn't so comfy i would get a different one!

I use silicon spray where the rails fit into the actual seat. I seems to work for a ride or two.

persistent problem with bel air too but far too comfy too replace. As above, saddle taken off every couple of months for a grease and wd40 now and again where rails enter actual saddle.

Last 'service' I noticed the cover which covers the rails where it enters the saddle has got a cover on with a small allen key fitting.......has anyone opened this and greased?

Am glad you made a thread on this as I have just been experiencing the same creaky crack ass noise myself and this might just be the ticket.

Thought it was my seatpost area, not the bearing pivots and some may say ๐Ÿ™„

cheers Spud.

I never had this problem with my Bel Air.
Tried greasing the clamp bolts?

Buy a better saddle.

If you like the sahpe so much go to an I-beam post and saddle

Thomson post?

copper slip* always worked for me. Had to replace it on a regular basis as it washed away, but it's about the only thing that seems to work. oh, and a dab on the bolts of the post, they sometimes creak against the brass washers

*I know that's not what it's for, but it worked..

I have 3 of them, every few months, take seatpost out, finish line green lube into where the rails go into the seat, leave upside down for a few hrs. when I wash the bikes I spray gt85 liberally over underside of saddle. No creaks ๐Ÿ˜›
