6ft 2in

58cm road bike equivalent
57cm CX equivalent
19.5inch MTB equivalent

Why is it that road bikes are measured in cms and mtbs stil in inches? Is it because mtbs originated in the US? Road bikes have always been more traditional, but since most came from Europe back in time, and Europe has been decimal for years, that might account for it.

OP - which bike do you want to go up a size one and why do you think this?

Not sure you can really compare bike sizes in this way as my medium soul is a different size to my medium Spesh.

I'm 5'11" and I ride a large which is a 19 I believe with a 70mm stem.

It's all good. Iused to have exactly the same bike in a 17 and I prefer the 19 with a shorter stem it climbs better and seems a bit less twitchy

5'5.5"
17" hardtail. The 15" was ridiculous, hired a 15" Kona which nearly destroyed my back. Not all rules fit all people.

First of all WOW what alot of tall people

I'm 6 foot 4, which outside this tread is quite tall. My mountain bikes are 21.5. OK the trek is virtual 21.5, really 20 inch. Both are run with the pin all the way out. I use to be Ok on a 19.5 Trek but I couldn't do that now. I think my old knees need to run less bent

I'm about 5'8-9" ish with a 29" inside leg, riding a 16" trailstar (quite short TT). Had a 19" rockhopper which felt nice leg-wise but was too long on the TT.

OP - which bike do you want to go up a size one and why do you think this?

Thinking of changing from my 16" BFe to a 17.5" soul or simple, the reason being I want to ditch the commuter so I can go lunch time riding. Plus I find my riding less about razzing and more about gentle riding now mainly due to location.

5' 10.5" (to be precise), with quite long legs and arms, short body. I ride...

"Medium" sized Giant Reign X (equivalent to about a 17.5")
"Medium" sized Maverick Durance (equivalent to about a 17.5" again)
17.5" sized Genesis Altitude
18" sized On One Inbred 29er (wow, what a departure, a whole 1/2" biggerer!!!) ๐Ÿ˜‰

Being "average" height has its advantages, and that's that about 80% of the 2nd hand bikes out there will fit me. And any bike I want to sell usually sells pretty quickly too...

22" MTB (29er) - 26" wheels are ridiculous on a bike this size.

5'11"

Full Suss - Large (19") Nicolai, inline post & 90mm stem with low rise bars
HT - Medium (17.5") Cove Handjob, layback post, 90mm stem with low rise bars
Road/commuter - Medium Charge Plug, layback post, 100mm stem with bull horn track bars
Road (proper) 54cm Raleigh layback post & 100mm stem & compact bars.

I think seat post style, stem length and type of bars is also very important for this topic to mean anything
