Main bike is a 2005 SX Trail with a mixture of older and new bits.
BFe frame was bought brand new in Feb but has a lot of old stuff on it as well as a few new bits.
Road bike was bought new in January.
Also got an original Chameleon for the other half with oldish stuff on it and an early nineties Beast of the East that I'm goochng to rebuild this year (just in the process of collecting bits for it).

My oldest frame is from 1997 and ows me nothing, I have various bikes all from the mid 00's and my latest was bought a few weeks ago but for less than £200 and is a dirty fixie not a "Proper" bike...
But TBH we're talking about Bikes not a Car or House, if you are really going to wring your hands over "resale value" then I don't think MTBing is the sport for you...
If I can't afford to write a bike/part off altogether then I don't buy it.
I think Golf clubs hold their value quite well don't they...
