Just in the process of building up a C456 Evo. Can't wait to see how it rides!

Hardtails are fun but fs even more so imo. Though saying that I had an awesome ride on my hardtail on Tuesday at Aston Hill, scared myself a good few times 😆 harder spring has definitely helped, really don't like soft forks on a ht.

Thanks ef52. I have only had it since November, but for where I ride, it's my go-to bike. I can't imagine it would ride much different to yours, so I would keep the one you have, if it was me.

I'm going to keep it ,i went out on it today on a little 28 mile trail I've worked out ,came back with biggest grin on my face ,where its dry and loose on the trails its nice kicking the back out ,and flying over the roots ! my older bike was a giant MCM ,I'm trying to get a picture up but having trouble .

What seems crazy is that some of those "fun" hardtails also appear to have 26 inch wheels. I really wouldn't have seen that coming.

Well, I absolutely used to love this:

But then some lowlife scum nicked it. So I spoke with the insurance and I got this:

Hardtails are fun but not steep head-angled twitchy XC hardtails

Nah, twitchy rigid SS with narrow bars and narrow tyres iz well old skuul.

Actually, as other have said, all bikes are fun. The one I can just drag out of the shed and know it will be a blast to ride without any tinkering is always my favourite = rigid SS at the mo.... what has this place done to me???!!!! 😆

Real men ride Hardtails...

I'm currently on a Scott Scale, 80mm travel Xc frame. I have a blast on it. Thrash around like a loon (waiting for it to snap in all honesty)

But I have acquired a 2008 P7 frame, which may have to be powder coated the same blue as binners, lovely that is

Ef52, both 26 inch lo tech wheels though I am tempted to tape cardboard to the tyre to bring it up to 650b to be fashionable ..

the green one as a complete bike, 2 x 10, crossmax tubeless wheels, good spec fork, was £1600 and new / unused

My black frame was £500 as an ex built up for show in the shop, bike... Found on eBay. As built now, a shade over 9kg

Best thing about these two is they feel like every ounce of effort is channeled into movement.

The Orange one is the comedy hero ..

So much fun I sold the FS (I apologize profusely that the dropouts aren't slammed in this pic).

Click "share" (the arrow point right, bottom-right, under the pic) and then choose the size and copy and paste the BBCode (no need to use STW's "IMG" thing). That's assuming you're using the Flickr website, and not an app.

Seeing as everyones saying such complimentary things about the P7 (thanks!), it'd be a shame to waste the opportunity to post another piccie up

[img] [/img]

Nice and muddy on a moody lake district day in Grizedale t'other week. Lake district singletrack is where its at its happiest 😀

trenchy24 - The blue is a RAL 5015. Theres 2 of them done like that now, as PJM1974 has had his done the same colour. So theres one oop north, and one daaaarn saaaaarf. He needs to get some piccies up!

Love my hardtail - it's really versatile. With XC tyres on it I can do all day epics or if I put some big tyres on it absolutely flies downhill, quite regularly take it over Stile Cop now and some of my Strava times are getting close to those on my DH bike.

Lots of fun,, love the directness and nimbleness, although I must admit to enjoying crushing most of my strava times on my new bandit over the last couple of weeks. Equally but for slightly different reasons. Bikes are awesome!

Absolutley love it, ride it to work, done BPW, Cwmcarn, afan, skateparks, and even put the kid seat on the back, does everything I could want it to.

Thinking of dropping the travel a bit when I get a full bouncer though as 160mm is a bit of a handfull on the climbs.

Had this a few weeks now. Not enough rides on it as I'd like yet but ones I have had have left a huge smile on my face.

I'm with Northwind...

I love my hardtail. It's not as good as my full suss, but sometimes less good is better

And you'd complain if someone took a steamroller over your favourite trails, so why ride a FS 🙂
