Stripping my yeti down for a good clean after this weekends ride. Started looking at the components and how long they've been on the bike. Im sure that chains, sprokets and pads just seem to last longer. I all ways use middle of the range gear so dont beleive its materials.

It cant be down to fair wearther riding(?) out in all weathers. I can only guess that its down to smoothing riding and genraly more confident riding style.

The middle chain ring has been on for over a year now (race face)I ride everyweek end and somtimes midweek usualy 15+ miles at a time, over welsh trail centers and some boggy natrual routes.

How long should you expect from components.

Whats the best brand for your money?

Well if you only ride around 1500 miles in a year then I think its probably low mileage rather than 'smoothing riding and genraly more confident riding style'.

Anyway KMC chains and shimano cassettes for me.
