Small case of pilot error. Anybody have any experience of how much you can retrue a wheel without it being structuraly unsound. It's a 32h 717 rim and about 7 or 8mm out for a about an 8th of the wheel.

Should I get out the credit card or the spoke key?

early in my riding career I managed to bend a wheel on a pylon (the bike was attached to the back of my car -oops)

I was on holiday - and the LBS trued the wheel for me - and explained that this was a temporary fix as the rim had been bent - as a result one side of the spokes was v tight, the other fairly loose. However they said I could keep riding until a spoke broke, at which point I should get a new wheel

I kept riding it for nearly a year before replacing the wheel - and a spoke broke as I was swapping the wheel over
