[quote=Leku ]On one

Not made in the UK, are Oranges HT's still made over seas too?

I think he was basing it on who its made for "bikes being designed and specified in the UK, for the UK" no not where its made " whether the frames are manufactured here or abroad"

Yep the UK is a special place that is very different to the rest of the world ๐Ÿ™‚ In modern times most frames will be suited to UK riding.
The other one to consider is Hand Made is no measure of quality.

I thought this was a general UK brand thread, not necessarily manufactured here?

does that mean you just need a head office/figure head somewhere?

Well the OP mentioned Kinesis, so that pretty much defines the thread imo.

I guess it means you should also include Pinnacle and maybe (haven't looked it up) the Edingurgh Bike Co-op brand Revolution.

For parts, it would therefore also include Choctopron - or at least the stuff he's designed himself as opposed to just rebranding.

There's quite a lot of design in the UK but not so much manufacturing:

I have a Kinesis which says - "designed in the UK" and a Moda that says "Designed and built in the UK"
AFAIK - Whyte, Genesis, design here and manufacture overseas. Moda do most overseas and only some manufacturing here. Only Pashly remain as an entire design and manufacture brand in the UK. I would be happy to be corrected.

Except the Orange hardtails, which last time I heard were all made in Taiwan.
Although obviously still fit in with the OP's desires.

dont they just class the hardtails as[s] cash[/s] sales boosting special edition or rerelease our legacy models to make a few quid,

What's the name of those lads who make bamboo framed bikes?

IIRC they are Brits?
