4 or 6 are mine, depending on how I count
1 ss mtb
1 ht
1 ss commuter
1 old steel road bike

All cheaply built by me

Plus my 89 clockwork and vitus 979 that I hardly ever ride so don't count

Two built and used. Two (new) in bits, one ready to build, one waiting for wheels and a saddle.

OCR road bike
Arkose commuter/shopper/this weather bike. (Technically this one belongs to my employers though).
I've got 2 of my old road frames in the loft, a 1973 Ellis Briggs and a 1976 Columbia GB I don't think they'll ever see the light of day again though. Oh and an even older Bob Jackson with track drop-outs.
Edit. And my old Soul frame's in the loft, too.

4 and a half. Bad enough, but even worse I guess when they are all so similar.

Rigid singlespeed Lee Cooper. Slick-shod 'urban' MTB.
DMR Trailstar with 80mm forks. Currently indoors on the turbo.
Identiti Mr Hyde with 100mm forks. My 'spare' or 'backup' HT.
Cotic BFe with 150mm forks. Main do-it-all bike (AM in marketing speak I guess).

And the 'half' is an old Peugeot MTB frame and a pile of parts that are due to be turned into an MTB/cruiser hybrid pub bike.

06 Spec enduro,Genesis IO sser, '89 Spec Hardrock for the MTB side
Coticx and Kaffenback as CXers
Pre war Dawes fixed as spare gravel bike
Local frame builder very light steel as main road bike, plus my 83 spec 531 Ralaigh Competetion for odd days.
All rideable as we speak. Needing the odd bit to ride are a very early Moulton, another Raliegh competion, a Rogers trike, and needing more parts are a Higgins trike, a no purple Raleigh mtb and a Giant OCR.
The missus has a cheapy full suss thing and a nicer Ridgeback hybrid.
aiming for another trike soon.

Whittled down to three:

MTB: Solaris
Cross/winter/commuter: Kinesis Pro6
Summer road: Tarmac SL4

Would add, if space and budget allowed:

FS 29er
Langsterish SS
Fatty
Brompton

But from past experience I know they wouldn't get enough use.

I used to have a few then realised I hte having bikes that rarely get used (how often do all of your bikes actually get out if you're one of the 6+ people?).

Now it's 1 6inch full sus which does downhill and big rides plus bike park freeride stuff.
1 hardtail, jumpy long travel fun for downhill and short forest rides.
1 commuter for occasional trips to town.

The two mountain bikes handle everything and get roughly equal use. I'm happy with things this way and am trying to resist buying a downhill rig simply to keep up with my mates on DH days!

1 HT
1 FS
1 winter road bike
1 summer road bike
1 20 year old HT + 1 even older steel tourer on loan to son and his GF at uni
2 frames hanging up that I ought to get rid of but might just come in handy for some daft project in the future
Oh and the wife's hybrid and the other son's FS which he never uses because he is too busy playing on his X box ( he is 31!)

1 old race bike (hung up, sentimental, brought me some good wins/results)

New road bike on way
Short travel 29er full Sus in pipeline
And if my litespeed saber frame doesn't sell then I guess a new fixie/tt bike!
