All the components are just a straight swap or should be. Its my electric kitted bike so slightly more complex than usual. Do I start it tonight?

Come on. There never a straight swap really though. Always that slightly longer/shorter gear cable or brake line that you have to get.

Leave it till the LBS is open just incase.

Everything going onto a smaller less corroded frame

Well, a bike with a lot of utility that will see a lot of use is better than a wallflower.

Damned inconsiderate!
Have to go to sleep soon now. ๐Ÿ™

Oh,I agree with a comment someone else made. Who cares about looks, it's a bike meant to be practical and used a lot.

I managed a frame swap in approx 30 mins once, just a single speed though so not too tricky!

What? I set an alarm for updates and OP has gone to bed with an unfinished build?

What kind of shoddy behaviour is this?

Ok - enough coffee consumed. Back to work. This is how I find the bike this morning - all major components in place.

I bust the 575 on a holiday a few years ago. The shop swapped fitted the headset, the rest was done at the campsite whilst ahsat made curry and brought me beer! A couple of hours, though not with the complication of your motor etc.

Buggeration - motor unit is touching the frame where it shouldn't. Has to come out again and the frame be gently pursuaded

Motor unit back in properly. Perhaps doing this last night was not so clever. Now to the finishing touches ๐Ÿ™‚

Well the answer was about 4 hours including searching for lost bits and false starts

Built for a purpose - to get me to work in comfort and make the hills easy.

I actually want to uglyfy it further as a theft deterrent considering that a couple of grands worth of kit. I though painted with pink emulsion then plastic flowers all over it like the dutch do ๐Ÿ˜‰

I think a sticker that says, "I am TJs and if he finds you, your ears will regret it." That ought to do it.

Its a bike built for a purpose not as an ornament. ๐Ÿ™‚

Its for commuting to work - 6.5 miles uphill at 6am followed by a 13 hr shift followed by the ride home. I need to carry a fair amount of stuff so a rack is needed. I commute every working day all year round so mudguards are a must ( plus the funny mud-flap to protect the motor) I go right across Edinburgh on the badly potholed and cobbled streets so suspension and 1.75 tyres help. High mary bars are comfy and wind resistance don't matter as going to work its uphill and I get the prevailing wind in my face and home is downhill. Disc brakes as some sections are high speed thru traffic and being able to hold your speed thru junctions is a big help but sticky tyres and discs give me greater margins. The e bike kit saves me 15 mins out of 37 on the way in. Thats significant

And I knew it would upset the STW sense of right ๐Ÿ˜‰ Just wait until the pink brushed paintjob and the artificial flowers! I'll get the pics up when I do!

Ok chaps - help me out here 0 the pedals seem absurdly low as in gettng pedal strikes going over speedbumps and on cornering even at tiny angles of lean. Its a 100mm fork on it with 20% sag. I can't see why this would be so - any clues?

Ah - that could be it - the elecy motor adds to the width I think - but even so the pedal seem absurdly low. Much lower than the genesis ioid all the kit bar the motor was on before. chainstay does seem to be a bit lower at the BB end. are all 100mm forks equal? How much difference in axle to crown measuremets are there? with the fork fully compressed the bottom of the crank arm is no more than an inch from the ground.
