Punctured the last time I was out and discovered the sealant in the tyre had dried out. Stuck a tube in and got home. Just topped up the sealant and I am still getting air loss with sealant bubbling out the hole prob 2-3 mm long

It's an old bottle, bought well over 2 Years and and been in the shed for a while. Could the sealant be off and no longer sealing or do I need a tubeless repair kit?

I've had bottles of Stan's last for well over a year once opened. They were stored in the house, room temp, not in the sun, etc. So I don't think 2 years is too long if stored under good conditions. But your shed may have been less than ideal...

Were the little particles still in the sealant and floating around freely? You'd need them to be in there to plug a 2-3 mm hole.

And did you shake it up good?

I don't think sealant goes off in the bottle, but it definitely does settle.
Tip it out in to another container. If thee's sludge left in the bottom that proves you didn't shake it up enough.
Maybe after two years it needs a bit of help. Chuck a couple of small nuts in there and shake it up again, like the ball bearings in a paint can.

I find it's fine untill it isn't, and the whole lot spontaneously 'curdles'. Shortest was a year, every othe bottle I've finished before it's gone off.

Seems to last ages in the cellar, must be at least 2 years now and still fine.

I just went tubeless on a new bike with a bottle of Joe's no flats that I bought in 2007

I've had a small bottle go within 2 months of purchasing - but it was stored in a bike trailer doing 100km a day on rough roads for 1/2 of that!
