Daft question, but i am looking at buying an Asguard bike shed. Have very limited space, and trying to work out if a 29er will fit in a standard size 810 x 1725mm internal dimension shed. (i dont have room for the larger size shed) (i also dont have a 29er yet that i can measure, but want to size the shed so that i can get one in the future). Can anyone tell me how long a medium size, modern geometry 29er is likely to be from front wheel to back wheel. i know they are all different, but a ballpark figure would be really useful.

It's a large but I'm 5'11" so not a giant.
Surely just taking the front wheel off would make it short enough for it nor to be an issue
Wheelbase of your chosen bike from the geo sheet and add 29"?
Handlebars / fork / front wheel also rotate as a unit to significantly reduce the length..... 🙂
1200 - 1300 wheelbase is pretty typical for full sus (if you only use a medium it'll be at the shorter end). Hardtail not a lot smaller.
Regular 29er tyre is 740 outside diameter, 29+ more like 770. Add half that on each end and you're close to 2m.
So it wouldn't fit neatly in the standard shed with the wheel straight on. Might go with bars turned (at the expense of space for other bikes) and no problem if you don't mind taking the front wheel off.
I get 4 bikes in a trimetals bike box - it’s over 10 yrs old so doubt it was built with 29ers in mind. My two 29ers just fit but to get my road bike and my wife’s 26 inch wheel MTB in as well all MTBs have the front wheel off.

Yep, take your wheelbase and add 740mm.
Mine's an XXL 29er but has a wheelbase of 1269, so 2m (and 9mm) in length. Looong boy.
I use an old medium size 29er with 80 mm Rebas and 2.0 tyres as a hack. That's 1800 mm long, with a 1080 mm wheelbase. A modern geometry medium with longer forks and slacker head angle will be much longer than that, so you will need to turn the bars or remove the wheel to fit into a 810 x 1725 shed. Or prop the front wheel up on something.
