with your bike.
and rode down from..
been up to the top of the saulire above courcheval....
which is pretty high, and awesome to ride down from..
where you been high??
Devils Dyke, although I avoided descending the Northern escarpment. My goodness I'm jey.
Took my Epic to just below the summit of Mount Keen, so about 3000ft.
but did you ride up? and from what height.
recently roade from 0 - 2000 and back to o (meters) thats my highest unassisted to date.
ive been at 3330m for a certain well known race, but i cant claim for a second that i got up there unassisted.
3300m - rode down to 700m

Somewhere between 4000 and 4500m in the Bale mountains of Ethiopia. Riding up was very, very hard work.
I think it was Tullu Demtu but I could be wrong.
Can't remember the exact height but a few rides on this trip started well above 10000ft

snaps, i know it is not, but that pic looks photoshopped......... ๐
Only counts if you ride up. Uplift is cheating.
Mosquito Pass, Colorado 13,185 ft. (4019m) I think is my highest
Its an off road pass which we road up and down, with panniers
On the same tour we also hit
Pearl pass 12,705' (3,872 m)
and
Tatlor pas also over 12,000 ft
Ton I don't like to complain but I think we need an altittude for your ride
Cyprus, bottom of Happy Valley , sea level, off road to the top of Mount Troodos at 1952metres. 5.5 hours up, kebab and chips at the top, then 2 hours down....
as high as you can go in scotland, and it was rubbish.
i used to go everywhere high ๐
[img]
Ton - yes you're right, it looked like this until we 'shopped the clouds in ๐
[img]
Agille Rouge in Les Arcs around 3000m but I wouldnt say what we did really qualifies as riding down!.
Cadair Idris
i have ridden from Le Chable (821m) to col des Gentianes (2950m) when out in Verbier. Half the descent ie 1500 to 821 was done before the climb and the rest afterwards.
and i do mean i rode it all.
eck...what's with the 'TV umpire decision needed' hand gestures on that pic?
3,200 iirc in the alps
Ton I don't like to complain but I think we need an altittude for your ride
2695 meters.
Only counts if you ride up. Uplift is cheating.
I don't recall the OP saying that.
Highest thing I have ridden up is Helvellyn.
Snaps.. I've been there too!
ive been down from Col De Chanrossa 2544m courchevel on a snow bike like this..

andyp
the T is for Tennent's, which we'd usefully left at the bottom of the hill. muppets.
single speed to the top of snowdon 3.5 hour up 45 mins down

On the road I have done a 6000 ft climb and descent - never again. Offroad 2500 ft in Scotland - climb and descent.
On foot starting at 12000 ft and climb to 15000 ft then descend to 6000 ft.
did a few big cols in the pyrenees too, but that is cheating on the road bike...... 8)
Been over 4000m in the rocky Mountains colorado US but boy was it hard work (lack of oxygen) both up and down
From sea level to the top of Mount Psiloritis (8500ft) in Crete.
>Can't remember the exact height but a few rides on this trip started well above 10000ft,
It's about 1500m vertical down to Zermatt from Gornergrat.
Height's not everything - a beer at Findeln on the way down with "that view" takes a bit of beating ๐
anyone ridden the death road?
Trail 401, Crested Butte, Colorado at 11,200 feet - started the trail at Crested Butte at 9,000 feet in beautiful sunshine, got into snow and lightning at the top above Schofield Pass - character building! And then back down to sunshine.

Great week of trails out there... <sighs>
Gunsight Pass, Crested Butte, Co which is 12,000 ft.
have to admit the last mile was probably walked as its a 3,000 ft climb. Climbed back on to crest the top though.
Descent wasn't great as it was pretty loose scree IIRC.
drain - I thought 403 was better. although the 403 followed by 401 was definitely my best day on a bike ever... ๐

on the same ben nevis ascent, we could have done with a lift from these chaps
single speed to the top of snowdon
You mean you walked to the top of Snowdon pushing a singlespeed. ๐

meh..I've ridden Snowdon on a singlespeed. it's fine.*
*it was a 22-34, mind.
Another thumbs up for trail 401
I've done sea level to 200om in Spain, on road but with panniers. Only realised after the holiday quite how much up we'd done. We are all stuffed that evening
5300m in Bolivia, down Chacaltaya, where the world's highest ski resort is. The ride starts with mega rocks and scree, high altiplano scenery, and ends with semi tropical rainforest and dusty corners on lush doubletrack. Amazing...
Does Entinox count ? ๐
@MH, I didn't do the 403 which was a shame - Strand Hill and Farris Creek were superb (in different ways - seeing bear claw marks on the aspens made me get a shift on...), as was Upper (and Upper Upper!) Loop.
And Lower Loop was the perfect first acclimatising ride at a mere 9,000 feet - was wheezing a bit on day 1! Fine the next day though.
Those local brews sure hit you at altitude 8)
The bouldering at the trailside on Upper Loop looked fun but I'd not taken my stickies with me.
The Andes, Somewhere near the Sacred Valley of the Incas - Probably about 2500-3000 metres. On a hired aluminum Trek hardtail which was rather knackered ๐ฏ
