A few sticky pistons and seeping reservoir caps. Any special bits needed and where's best for bits. Thanks

you need pistons and seals + piston cap tool. Look at the hope website as by the time you factor this in and new pads it is about as cheap to send to Hope who tend to replace everything including hose.
I did my minis myself saved about £15-20 quid. Have tool so bit more next time but not sure it is worth it for time and hassle unless you enjoy fettling.

I would take pads out and just pump the pistons out a bit the give em a good squirt with silicone spray lubricant, push them back in and do it again several times that should free the pistons up. Once you have done that give them a bleed and replace the diaphragm on the lever assembly job done.

Quite like messing and have two sets of m4 so could be cost effective to buy bits I think

How do you push the pads back when the pads aren't in mate

Just use a plastic tyre lever, takes a bit of practice. I normally put something in between the pistons.

You may get away with a good clean first - depends how tight you are!

Here's a photo guide for the overhaul. It's relatively straightforward with no surprises, although there are a couple of things to pay attention to if you decide to also do the levers.
