Are they really the bees knees? Anybody here has a Steamroller? What is it like? Comparable to Pompino or better as in comfier?
I've got loads of Surly stuff.
Never had any problems with any of it
I have two Surlys a 1x1 and a Crosscheck and lots of Surly parts. They are well made indistructable and they just work. I would definetly choose a Surly Steamroller over the Pompino.
i have owned 3 surly's, still got a long term one.

crosscheck is heavier and more solid feeling than a Pomp, bit more comfortable but not as nippy. Very pleased with mine tho, so much so i bought an LHT too :0)
love my Pugsley and Karate Konkey, both the best fitting bikes ive had, esp the KM and for the frameset price its very underated, both do the job nice, free hip flask with the pugsley aswell ๐
also have an On One, love it too
Have a 1x1 and a Crosscheck, for me the 1x1 had that 'just right' feeling from the start. The Crosschecks done well over 5000 mile of commutes and is still going strong, just about to rebuild it for the upcoming CX season.
I have a 1x1 and soon to be cross check, have a fair few if their parts also, well made stuff and does what it's intended for.
Pleased with my 1x1, handles well, just seems to go where you want it, no fuss or bother. Welds are very well done too. Got a few of their bits on it too, nice well made stuff that just works.
Had/still got 2 Surlys. Instigator & 1x1. The 1x1 is a good honest bike, does the job, on the heavy side, rides ok.
I regard Surlys as a step on a path to something better - usually a Salsa ๐
I've also had/have a few On-Ones. They're aiming for the same sort of market as Surly, but do it slightly better IMO - especially the Pompino - and without the superheated hype our USA counterparts are prone to.
