I've got a set of 2012 Fox Float 32 Evolution Open Bath Damping 150mm RL.

How do these compare to more modern forks? Anything I am missing out on? I'm going to swap my frame (still sticking with 26" for now) and wondering if I should think about changing the forks too. I'd buy second hand most likely.

On the list for possible replacements are:

Fox 34s
Rockshox Pike (new version)
Rockshox Revs
Any other Rockshox
Manitou Mattoc
Xfusion Slant

Is there an equivalent for Fox forks, or even something that compares Fox and RS?

What makes you want to change what you have?

IMO, the tuning and maintenance of a fork has more impact that the shiniest, newest damper technology.

I found Fox 32's at 140 mm pretty flexy so I'd imagine at 150 mm they're OMG wibbly. I'd be looking at changing for that reason personally.

The forks I had prior to these were Fox Float 32 140mm and they were wibbly in comparison! I didn't realise how much I relied on/compenstated for the flex until I moved to the current ones, which seem a lot stiffer but it's all relative

What makes you want to change what you have?

Really that's the reason for starting this thread. I think my main reasons are that Fox have to be serviced so often, they are straight steerer, simple damping and no much other adjustment. Also might be Wibbly, I have nothing else to compare them to

I went from Fox 32's to the Pikes and the extra stiffness is very noticeable, however I don't think they are as plush as the Fox.

Not sure that helps as this sort of thing is quite subjective.

The same fork chassis at 140 travel were more flexy than at 150 travel? eh?

Worth changing to 34's (post 2014) or Pikes, not so much the Revs. Can't comment on the others.

Yes. But the 140mm were QR and 2010 model, the 150mm are 15mm axle and 2012. So not a direct comparison, granted.

For Fox 34, which damper is worth looking at?
