Just setting up 1x on my new frame but the 30t ring runs v. Close to chain stay.
Does it matter? Is it worth putting an extra spacer on the drive side BB? ( This looks as if it would mess with the chain line)
Depends on how stiff the frame is! What is it?
Solaris max. So probably not that stiff. There does seem to be 5-6 mm clearance but this looks a lot less than on other builds I have done
Just been to measure it more like 2-3mm
I've got a non-boost crank on my boost Vitus Sentier and the 32t chainring is 1 or 2mm away from the chainstay. It's been like that for 2 years and not caused any problems.
my hard tail runs a fag paper distance away.. ts not going to go anywhere.. not so true on a full sus i suspect..
i do have some signs of abrasion, i guess stuff gets trapped and rubs on it
That's reassured me! I'll crack on and get the chain on.
IMHO the whole chain line thing is much less important than many folk make out.
2-3mm should be fine unless you're an utter animal.

I've got a cotic soul with 30 ring and it's about 1mm away from stay and I have no issues at all . Sigh of relief. Awsome frame by the way .

Exactly. When I look at my old bike, it has a poor chainline 88% of the time. My new bike is even worse, it's poor 90% of the time.
