[#1651834]

a mate needs a new back wheel as he's heavy on his (hardtail) bike and his current Mavic 719 can't really handle him, so I need advice on what to suggest (I'm buying it for him).

Flows have a good rep but how tough are they (all other things being equal)?

I think the rim should be sub-600g really, so what other options are there?

EN 521, at 540g?
DT EX500 (or 5.1) at 500g

Any suggestions for a good 'enduro' rim?

I've used a 719 and a Flow as a rear rim and the Flow does seem much stronger.

Very easy to ding a 719 doing jumps, drops and rocky riding. But Flows are unharmed after some pretty big rocks and a reasonable amount of time riding DH on my Froggy.

The Arch is the 819 equivalent, but still stronger. The Flow is a much stronger thing, very impressive. Can't compare with a 521 myself though.

Ta. I think I'm going to go with the Flow (...)

Just need to wait for some stock...
