Who's going then?
Fingers crossed the weather stays nice.
Here's to nice singletrack, cider, camping and a great raffle.
No one else then?
Oh well, more cider for me 😁
We will be there. Hoping for the customary good weather and dry trails with the odd drop of isotonic cider to help easy us roubd
Will be there.
Any locals - whats the bramble/stinger situation this year? should I wear trousers?
@oikeith it's a XC MTB event, Heaven Of The South https://heavenofthesouth.co.uk/
I'll be there, legs aren't up to much so probably the short route for me this year.

Based on what a mate that lives in Dursley is saying, I'll be long sleeving and long socking it + front and rear mudguards.
There will be slop!
Plan to be there after a really enjoyable first go last year-hopefully dryish in the woods or it'll be a long day.
(I think there may be a bit of a flaw with the naming of this thread!)
I'm localish - trails were perfect yesterday, it's rained this afternoon, the rest of the week is sunny intervals, 18 degrees with maybe a couple of light showers, so trail conditions should be fine bar the odd spring that'll hold water / mud year round.
They are sending riders down a stream on the long route though.
I live 5 miles away and never get to go, the wife's birthday this time and away, it always falls on the weekend we're away!
Dursley/Cam resident here, it'll be nettles galore and sticky if we get anymore rain. Walked round the Golf Course Saturday and it was still wet in places after a good few days of dry. Forecast is for rain this week.
I’m going again this year. It’s the local thing so rude not to! Normally ride the short route but extend it with trails around nibley/stinchombe. It was sloppy in places yesterday so with the forecast rain I think it could be a touch slick!
like others have said, deffo some nettles about as well!
Out riding Dursley tonight and it's drying out quickly, the weeds are growing quickly, but there is still quite a few swamps around!

What a brilliant day 😎
Lots of new trails on the route, the 75km (80 actually) route was great, lots of lovely singletrack and some tough climbs (1650m in all). Got back in 5hrs, which I'm happy with.
Beautiful weather, and surprisingly dry. The HOTS gods smiled on us again!
Good haul in the raffle too 😁

Another great weekend with the weather gods behaving. We did the short version which was 56k and 1200m after our little detour when we saw some extra downhill trails in the woods 😀
HOTS produced the goods as always. One of my favourite weekends of the year. We were in a big mixed ability sociable group, so tootled around the shorter course together with a cheeky pub stop along the way. I made the annual mistake of collapsing in the sun afterwards and necking a few pints of the oh so deceptively quaffable 'isotonic' cider. Followed by a few Uley brewery pigs ears. I wasn't feeling all that rehydrated by it next morning tbh!
