[#7759906]

I am setting about re-building my bivvying gear, but I'm in Hong Kong.

That means:

- temperature doesn't get much below 20degrees
- humidity is often 80 - 90%
- insects.

Anyone care to share any wisdom on lightweight gear for sleeping out in such conditions?

My initial thoughts are:

- tarp
- mosquito net that could be suspended from under the tarp/at the same points somehow
- very light quilt rather than a sleeping bag
- inflatable mat
- possibly a hammock/mosquito net combo, but that would restrict pitching spots rather.

Cheers for any advice.

At 20c would a sleeping bag liner work?
That and napalm for the insects.

I wouldn't even bother with a bivvy bag and tarp combo. I'd go for a tent. Lunar solo or trekker tent stealth.
Sleeping bag liner with a lightweight synthetic quilt.
Thermarest neoair or an exped mat.
