Done the rear 4 sets due to excellent web guidance.
Can I find any tips on the front .... no
Pulled off one side spacer to reveal a bearing.
Do I simply hit this side, pushing the other spacer off with bearing?
A web link or detailed help would be very much appreciated
i just did my Hope Mono front hub, bearings came out as you just described (tap axle to dislodge opposite bearing)
Smack the axle and the other side will pop out. From there it should all look straight forward its much easier that the reverse imo.
Have you had a look on the hope website?
I don't know this particular hub. is there a circlip holding the bearings in? if so remove it. Bearings usually drift from the cntre out - so with a long drift get into the middle of the hub and knock the centre spacer to one side then drift the bearing out from the centre tot eh outside
Edit - I am thinking about a 20 mm axle hub.
No circlips on the xc hub. Did mine saturday with a big screwdriver and hammer, yeee haaa!!
front is simples, as above; ding axle and one bearing out then drift the other one. Impressed you've worn out front bearings, mind. I'm still on a 2002 set.
All done, many thanks. It was quite cathartic.
