Is there any discernible benefit to goodridge hoses?

Hang on, A bike thread? :O

You mean the braided hoses vs regular? Barely any - braided will resist expanding a tiny bit but I doubt it'll be noticable. And they're difficult to trim, cost more, and look out of place.

On a WC DH bike, maybe. Anything else, nope.

I wouldn't have braided again and agree with TP. I absolutely couldn't tell the difference in brake feel and I'm fussy about stuff like that. Plus, expensive and heavy.

I've got this thought in the back of my mind that someone has actually tested them (it might even be hope themselves) and said there's no difference in braking power. They just withstand crashing better and offer an alternative asthenic.

No benefit whatsoever. The normal hoses are reinforced just as well so no less likely to bulge...and you're really not putting that much pressure into the fluid anyway. Aesthetics are the only thing and even then that is a personal thing. I got them when I got my Hope brakes but wouldn't bother again.

I have braided hoses on one bike and standard on the other. The only time I can tell the difference is when fitting them, because the braided are a bugger to shorten and won't fit in a rockshox P-clip.

Oh yeah, and they're too fat for some internal cable routing systems!

They don't use them on the HB.160 and the HB.130. You'd have thought that if they were better than standard, they'd use them.

Cable shaming...it’s so 2014

No discernible difference here, other than aesthetics and availability.

Anyone else have problems with hope black hoses fraying the white material occasionally when cutting, I use decent hose cutters and replace them regularly, never had problems cutting other hoses, currently using uberbikes hoses which cut perfectly, slightly smaller ID but I use a jagwire barb installation tool, goes in nice n easy, one of my fave tools.
Always hated the look of braided hoses, would never use them, pointless pita, imo.
