Hi all, I'm looking at new brakes and just wondering how these two compare, I can get the xtr for about £170 per end. How do they compare power wise, are the xtr as powerful. I'll be using them for trail and Enduro riding.
I'm not one to put anyone off spending money, but the XTs are really great brakes. I've owned the tech M4s, and (bar bleeding) the XTs are better in every way. About £130 for both ends from rosebikes.
The wife is running m4 brakes and I do all the maintenance. They've been faultless and she's given them some stick.
Seems to be two schools of thought.
Shimano, value for money work horse.
Hope, bit of bling with the advantage of cheap small parts.
Unless you're outside the norm in terms of weight, speed or technique, both will serve you well.
