Looking at getting some Tech 3 M4's. Running M770 9sp shifters. Are these compatable, or will I need matchmaker fittings to mount the shifters onto the levers?

Are they I-spec? If so they fit onto the Tech 3's directly in the same way as they would fit onto the shimano brake lever. No extra adaptors needed.
If they don't fit (i.e. non I-spec) the older matchmaker adaptors don't work with the new Tech 3 lever, although you can 'adapt' them with a drill to get them to work

IIRC If you've not got i-Spec shifters you may need to source new top covers. Tech 3 levers apparently work with both i-Spec A and B.
