hi what size olive do I need for shortening the braided hose? thanks
braided or black hose?
Braided are 6mm
Black hose are 5mm

Good luck with fitting a 6mm, they've been 5mm on braided for years. Last time they used 6mm on braided would have been around the time of the original Mini, same hose,larger (old type) alloy fittings, but clamping the olive over the top of the plastic sheath wasn't secure enough and led to many hoses pulling out of their fittings.

You should be able to re-use your existing olive surely (they're split aren't they)? If it's a braided hose, you just need to carefully remove a short section of the outer plastic sheath so that the olive is sitting on the stainless braid. I'm sure they'll be a tech video on Hope's site to that effect. HTH
