Hi folks,
I'm considering a 40T T-Rex from Hope for my new build.
Will I be able to use my existing short cage X9 clutch mech or change it for a medium?

I can't really answer about sram, but I use a 40t T-Rex with a short Shimano Zee and it works great. Can't imagine the sram mech being shorter?!

Full sus or hardtail?
HT should be ok if you get chain length right. Full sus will be more difficult - I snapped 2 Zees trying it on a five spot but YMMV
