[#1455286]

looking at buying some bike cleaner in a 5 litre bulk tub.

looking at either the fenwicks which says you can mix it down to 10/1 whih seems good but hope cleaner looks good value but do you use it neat or can that be dilited like fenwicks.

I've used the Hope stuff neat and it works OK. Not diluted it though.
I've used Fenwicks at a 9:1 dilution (half a litre in a 5 litre container) and it's not quite as effective as muc of.
Next batch will be stronger.

Best way to use Sh1t shifter seems to be spray a bit on neat then use sponge in clean water to adgetate the muck and then hose off.

Buy Fenwiks

Muck Off 5 £/l
Hope Sh1t Shifter 5 £/l
Fenwiks .9 £/l

If your go to a shop that doesn't sell Fenwicks tell them that you would rather buy Fenwicks as you object to spending 6 times as much on a smiler product. I don't think that Muck Off is 6 times better and if the other products are already diluted its bad for the environment.

fenwicks isnt that cost effective though as using it 9/1 its not very good.

i find i need it nearly 50-50 .

Fenwicks does me fine at the recommended dilution although I've normally squirted the bike with the Dirtworker prior to cleaning it properly.

I use Fenwicks neat to clean the chain etc.

I use the Hope stuff, spray it onto the brush / sponge rather than the bike, don't waste as much that way 😉

In reality - if you rinse the bike with water first and then use a sponge/brushes and some car soap (minus wax) then you don't need Fenwicks etc unless tackling the chain and cassette etc.

No-where else needs de-greasing or washing that "deeply"

Although my cats bought me some cleaner from"green oils" for xmas and it was ace (and smelt nice was biodegradable)
