At the moment running a 1x11 sram rival x-sync setup on my gravel. my 46 sram x-sync narrow wide ring is too large for me, want to drop down to 42, not cheap for a sram 42, approx £60+ and not easy to find. Spotted a hope retainer 42 CX ring 110 bolt circle, its narrow wide. read on the reviews on CRC that its not compatible with sram x-sync. I just can't see why not, just wondering what rings are compatible and the reason why hopes isn't. cheers
I have them on my Force CX1 chainsets, so I can't see why rival should be different. There is something funky though, can't remember what exactly, I think maybe the bolt that hides behind the crank arm needed changing for another. Have to take the spider off the crank to get the ring off, that's for sure!
EDIT - Does the Sram ring have a captive bolt behind the crank maybe??
