Thinking of one of these, couple of folk I know said previous model did not have enough depth . So have they sorted this ? I think I read somewhere they had changed optics but can't remember where .
I only run one light on my helmet would this be the one ? or another in same price bracket.
As my years increase so does my need for more light at night. The cheap chinese ones don't seem to be cutting it any more.

I personally would spend a bit less on something like a Gloworm X1 as a spot on the helmet and keep the other more floody chinese light on the bars. two lights work better than one IME
a number of my friends have the previous R4 and don't find they lack penetration to be honest, so if going for just one light the upgraded version may well be good
Love my r4+. Yes some of the Chinese lights are brighter, but I rarely run my light on full blast and the quality is unrivalled.
