ive just got a pro 2 and it has the allen bolt either end, but my frame uses a maxle. is it ok to use the allen bolts instead of the maxle to hold it in the frame or will it move?
Rear end? You need the maxle axle, that's probably a 10mm you have so will not work properly if at all.
(you also want a full-thickness maxle ie not a tapered maxle lite, as the Hope axle is too weak to support its own weight and will snap unless it's supported by the maxle itself. It might still snap tbh but not as much)
cheers, i was told it was a 12mm and i do have the full-thickness maxle.
Hey, I've got a spare maxle one... Fancy a swap?
its team addition man so i fancy keeping hole of it sorry
you can swap the internals, you get different axles for different sized fittings, i.e 12mm axel for maxle, 10mm for bolt up, 9mm for QR.
Yeah, I doubt the axle itself's any different on the team issue- just talking about swapping the axle itself not the hub. Nice easy swap if you can operate a hammer.
i got a guy who works at evans and he got a spares tray so he can get me one easy enough, do any of you have a spare 9 speed freehub body? the one on it is 5 speed.
Sounds a bit like you have a singlespeed / trials specific hub ??
That has bolt up and a smaller freehub for the singlespeed cog?. A 9sp feeehub wont fit.
I need a singlespeed Hope hub if you wanna sell ?
Also, you cant convert the singlespeed/trials hope hub to work with the MAXLE.
if anyone is interested in the hub email me jackpedder_9athotmail.com (replace at with @)
