Mangled it again by forgetting to remove it before bashing the bearing out!! I have 2 spares on the way - if they don't turn up before my next ride it will be ok to ride won't it, i am sure it will - just need reassurance.

No you'll die a slow and painfull death if you even try and ride up and down your street....
we are, 9.30 while 4. should've come to us first!
so - to answer my question - is it ok to ride without the seal in place?
also, which way in does it go? Flat side in or flat side out?
(I've got mine in bits too and forgot to take notice when I took it apart!)
as for running it without.......
if you fill the void with thick grease, I guess it would be ok for a couple of rides
