I'm just off the phone with them.

Problem - New seal for a Moto V2 caliper I'd initially been sent by some parts company(remains nameless) which turned out to be part number HBSPC41:TV2 I ordered Hope moto piston caliper seal kit and thats the one they sent.
This is the tech V2 not the moto V2. Although it shouldn't matter as in the hope tech documents it lists the Tech V2 and Moto V2 having the same caliper piston seal - HBSP207

Only thing is when you compare the old seal i took out and the C41:TV2 seal, they're massively different. The depth of the original(difference between the inside and outside diameters NOT the thickness) comes out as 2.5mm, and the replacement seal measures 2mm.
So it's not going to stick far enough out to properly engage with the piston so would likely leak.

Answer then would be to get a moto V2 piston seal, that is part number HBSP207.
So I order froma difference source the HBSP207 moto/trial piston caliper seal part number HBSP207. and it says Moto/trial caliper piston seal HBSP207 on it
Ideal ๐Ÿ˜€
No it isn't ๐Ÿ™
It's identical and measures the same depth- 2mm. I fit them, because it has to be correct, its the correct part number, the right year caliper. But it just doesnt sit out far enough and in fact i can feel with my finger that the seal hardly clears the edge of the piston recess.

PHONE HOPE
I got the right Hope engineer ๐Ÿ˜€ 10 minutes of going through the specs and he tells me that the caliper i have is a 3rd caliper, the very VERY first, one they made a slight change to the piston seal recess, but he wasnt sure if at that time they changed the seal as well - its 15 years back. CRC team riders were apparently having a problem with it and they made a change to the seal recess at that time, making it smaller and tighter
So he wants an email off me, with my address, and he'll send me the correct seal for that first model. Job hopefully sorted.

I think if i'd got a younger member of staff or just someone else we probably would never have tracked down the correct part.

So top marks to Hope. Finally get this troublesome caliper up and running. I've been trying to get the right bit for a few months, trying in that time to find out the specs of the caliper, the seal size exactly etc etc. But looks like it was just too original and outside the parameters of the standard V2 caliper specs, Hope's documents and exploded diagrams.

You just can't fault Hope for customer support. I've also contacted them in the past regarding old parts and they were more than helpful. Top class.
