Due to crash damage I need to replace one of the master cylinder caps on my 2008 Hope Mono Mini brakes. I have a replacement cap, but before I bodge anything :|... any advice on how to do this? Is it a case of just unscrewing the old one and popping the new one on there?

Cheers in adavnce.

yes simple as that- do not overtighten the screws holding it on - they only need to be nipped up

What he^^^^said - if the screws are the domed hex ones the amount of Allen key that engages is tiny and very easy to round out the bolt head.

WHat they said about the bolts! And is the diaphragm damaged as well?

If they don;t need bleeding then you should get away with just topping up with fluid and refitting the diaphragm and cap... good stuff from the Hope website on rolling the diaphragm on.

Does the 2008 not use a T10 Torx fitting?

Sorted ๐Ÿ˜€

Yes, I used a T10 Torx key for the bolts. Both rubber diaphragms were fully intact so it was just a case of carefully lifting off the old caps and replacing them with the new ones.
