Wondered what opinions were on above?

Torn between the two, price not really the issue, just whether Minis are good enough or if I need M4's.

Most riding is XC and singletrack. Quite like the lightweight of the Minis but fancy stopping power of M4s!

The M4 has, well, a bit more. It also has really nice modulation, so it's sensible at low speed but has a nice gob of power at the end of the stroke. An M4 front (183mm, say) with Mini/X2 rear (160mm) is a very nice trail set-up.

If you take the mini to some big hills, i.e. alps or similar then you are very likely to have issues! M4s all the way

I don't go much further than the South Downs!

Just bought a 2nd hand front m4 to replace my mono mini on the front (both older gold types, 180 rotor), fitting it now and hitting the mountains on monday, so I'll report back!

I used mini's in Morzine for two weeks. Wasn't the best choice but they managed with a lot of squeaking ๐Ÿ™‚
