I need to service my calipers, old style Hope Minis. (the silver 2 piece calipers)
The rear brake needs bleeding every few rides, it seems to be taking air into the hose from the caliper end, as I only need to bleed a small amount of fluid/air out before it works. Also seems to be taking dirt into the hose as there are black bits in the fluid each time I bleed it.
Can anyone advise which seals I need? Can't seem to find them on Wiggle/CRC. Also, from the reviews on CRC it seems its worth upgrading to the phenolic pistons...any views?
Send them off to Hope for a service. £35 and you get new seals (caliper +lever) new pistons and new hose attachments. Sicklines do a full strip down and service instructions.
£35!! 😉
To be honest I'd rather give it a go myself...
Spot the lazy one among us! Hope (excuse the pun) it goes well! Actually I think I have a set of BNIB Caliper seals in the shed, I might have a pair of phenolic pistons going spare too if you are interested..
Its very easy to rebuild old minis.

Circlip pliers are handy for the lever rebuild.
Thats the seal kit I have.
Thanks both, will go with the CRC ones as I need to do both brakes anyway. (don't know how I missed them!)
