Hi - I have sets of both of the above. M4s about 5 years old, X2s very new.
How do they match up side by side? In particular are the X2s up to handling long brake-boiling, hot weather, Alpine style descents, or should I stick with the M4s?
Or can I get rid of the M4s now?
(For UK, the X2s are more than man enough, I know that).

Put the M4 calipers at on end of a hose and the X2 levers at the other.
Are they Tech or Race?
I have Mono M4 calipers mated to Tech levers, and they work.
Tech X2.
Perhaps a better way of asking the question is "are Tech X2s up to long Alpine descents, can I replace my Mono M4s with them?".
OK well I see Hope now sell the 'Tech M4' which looks pretty much like the 'old' M4 Caliper with the new Tech X2 lever.
So I guess the answer is no.
