Hey people,

The battery for my Hope 2 LED has lost it, it's not lasting more than an hour after a full charge so I'm looking to buy a replacement. I've found out from candlepowerforums that it runs on 18650 cells so have been pricing them up but I'm going to need to secure the correct connector and waterproof casing/mount. Has anybody on here done anything similar?? Ideally I would like to get maybe 4 spare sells and some sort of receptacle to clip the batteries into and said receptacle will have the correct Hope connector on.

Any ideas??

Thanks!

Why not talk nicely to Hope? They are usually very helpful with replacement parts.

Ring up, visit or post it back with a nice letter. Email rarely gets answered.....

it's already been back to them. i think the battery has just had it and i have heard there are better batteries available so i'm just weighing up my options as i imagine not buying hope battery packs will be cheaper.

mine stopped holding it's charge, over 12 months old. Sent back to Hope no need for proof of purchase etc, replaced with brand spanking new one cost to me ....zilch and had it back in 6 days start to finish. I love Hope I do.

Yeap, Hope customer service can be good.

However, if you're wanting to buy a battery, then contact Smudge.

He may be able to do something with your old battery, or sort you a new one. Quality and prices are good.

Alternatively, I think a member here, known as "Turboferret" ?, was selling multiple 18650 battery packs/holders. You might find something from him, with a longer run time.

You have options, I'd try Hope first for a replacement battery pack for gratis or at least for a special price.

Good luck.

Is yours the newer range of lights ?
I had a couple of Hope pack's apart once. The HID pack had 4 in series, the LED had 2x2 in series.
The connectors are soldered on to the cells, so not a simple job unless your can solder. (I cant so chickened out).
Also the Hope connectors took some finding but I did find them eventually. Drop me a email if you want more info.
I think smudge off here does packs, I'd be surprised if he couldnt help out.
