[#10396288]

Do Hope still actually make the drifts for bearing replacement etc that they used to do? More specifically, do the make them to fit the Pro4’s?

Just asking as I can’t seem to find them and AFAIK only the freehub seal tool is compatible (and of all of them that’s the one I’m least interested in as a plastic tyre lever does the job well!)

I'm pretty sure that when I asked on here some time ago, I was told that the Pro 2 tools (which I have) would work with Pro 4 hubs, but you might want someone to confirm this before buying (or ask Hope directly).

Hm. I was under the impression the bearing sizes were different. I’ve been ignoring Pro4 until very recently so I may be wrong.

Seems odd that no one has updated text on the older tools to note new compatibility. There were definitely distinct differences between Pro2 and Pro2Evo rears...

You're as well using sockets, as the bore in the pro2 drifts isn't big enough to fit a 12mm axle through, the only one that's any use is for front hubs. And you don't get a drift to drive in the freehub bearings.

Unless they've updated them.

Yeah. I think the Pro 2 EVO tools should work fine with the Pro 4 hubs... The 2 main hub bearings are the same on both the Pro 2 EVO and the 4. It was only the bearings in the freehub body that changed size in the Pro 4.

The tools are listed as interchangeable here as well, if that helps:

Yes, you're right of course; I actually have Pro 2 Evo hub tools (not Pro 2) which I thought were Pro 4 compatible, but I may be wrong.

Bearing support Bush Part numbers,
Pros 2 evo rear HTT182 do pro 4 hubs, like above it the seal tool is diffeant.

Pro 4 hubs have S17287 and S6903 bearings (if shimanio free hub)
Pro2 evo have S17287, S61903 and S6803 bearings,
